As a married person wears a wedding band to show their commitment to their spouse, a believer submits to baptism by immersion to demonstrate their commitment to following Jesus and to bear testimony of what has ALREADY taken place in the heart of the believer.

There is no magic or mystical action taking place. Baptism has no salvific qualities. It takes place AFTER conversion. It is an act of obedience in the life of the believer.

Samuel told King Saul that God had removed his kingdom from him because of his sin. He said that God had chosen someone after God's own heart. What does that mean?

Saul took matters into his own hands and didn't repent when confronted. David, (whom was the man "after God's own heart") also took matters into his own hands, but when confronted, fell on his face before God in confession and repentance. Perhaps this is what God meant.

I am the Truth

Jesus said to Pilate that He was born to "testify to the truth". Jesus had earlier said that He was "the way, the truth, and the life". Truth isn't relative to circumstances and situations. The truth that Jesus testified to can be summed up in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life".

When the four lepers discovered the camp of the Arameans vacated, they enjoyed the bounty of that blessing. They ate their fill and hid some treasure. Then, they realized that they couldn't keep it to themselves and went back and told the besieged city of Samaria of the good news.

So, we as believers discover the good news of Jesus Christ (salvation). We enjoy the bounty of that blessing (discipleship), but not stop there. We must go and share the good news with others (evangelism/missions).

Can I Lose My Salvation?

Christians have been asking this question for years. It shows a basic misunderstanding of what salvation truly is. Jesus told Nicodemus that "you must be born again." He went on to say that the second birth is a spiritual birth.

Just as it is impossible to return to your mothers womb once you have a physical birth, it is impossible to return to a state before your spiritual birth. The simple answer to this question is "no, you cannot lose your salvation.". The real question is, are you truly born again in the first place?

We must be light, completely unable to be overcome by darkness. We are to point to the True Light, that is, Jesus.
